David trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London under the auspices of legendary garden designer John Brookes. Much of his styling and geometric approach to gardens are strongly influenced from his prior training and life experiences in Graphics, Architecture and Interior Design. This ability to draw on influences from these design professions allows his work to knit seamlessly between exterior and interior and to unify visually all his design proposals.

On completion of his training in garden design in 1992, David set up on his own and has travelled widely, undertaking design projects throughout Europe and N. America. Now based in Oxford, much of his work is still in demand outside of the UK.

In 2005, he was invited by the Royal Horticultural Society to create a chic show garden for the Chelsea Flower Show. Without question, this is the worlds’ most prestigious horticultural event and his garden was highly acclaimed by the press, media and judges alike when he was awarded a Silver-Gilt medal for his novel design.

In 2006, David represented the United Kingdom at the inaugural International Flora in Montreal, Canada. Supported by the British Council, his bold, contemporary show garden was widely acclaimed for the use of bullet-proof glass as a patio material, made all the more unusual built on a delicate framework over a pool of water, giving the impression of “walking on water”.
